Louth County Council Invites Residents to Take Part in Climate Action Week 2025

Louth County Council is proud to support An Taisce’s National Climate Action Week, taking place from 13th to 19th October 2025, with a dynamic programme of over 20 free events and initiatives happening across the county.

Now in its second year, the Council’s Climate Action Week campaign aims to raise awareness, spark conversation, and inspire meaningful action on climate issues—bringing together schools, communities, businesses, and local organisations in a shared effort to build a greener, more resilient future for County Louth.

Speaking about the Climate Action Week programme, Cllr Seán Kelly, Cathaoirleach of Louth County Council said:

“Climate Action Week is a fantastic opportunity for everyone in County Louth to come together and be part of something positive. Whether it’s attending a local event, learning something new, or making a small change at home, every action counts.

I encourage all residents to get involved, support the great work happening across our communities, and help us build a greener, more sustainable and resilient future for Louth.”

Commenting on the importance of collaboration David Conway, Chief Executive of Louth County Council said:

“Climate action and building climate resilience are priorities for Louth County Council and fall within scope of our core value of sustainability. We recognise that meaningful progress can only be achieved through strong collaboration—with our staff, communities, schools, businesses, and partner organisations.

Climate Action Week is a clear reflection of this collaboration. It brings people together, sparks new ideas, and empowers individuals to act. These events not only raise awareness, they also deliver real community benefits, strengthen local connections, support wellbeing, and build pride in our shared environment.

I want to thank everyone who has contributed to this year’s programme. Your involvement is what makes initiatives like this possible, and it’s through this spirit of partnership that we will continue to drive positive change across County Louth.”
