The European Union's PEACE IV Programme was a unique cross-border initiative designed to support peace and reconciliation in Northern Ireland and the Border Region of Ireland.  It was managed by the Special EU Programmes Body (SEUPB).

The eligible area for the PEACE IV Programme for 2014-2020 was Northern Ireland and the Border Counties of Ireland (Donegal, Cavan, Leitrim, Louth, Monaghan and Sligo). A Louth PEACE IV Action Plan was created in application for funding under this Programme.

The Louth PEACE IV Action Plan was officially launched in May 2018 and detailed how Louths allocation of approximately €3.5m would be utilised.

The PEACE IV Partnership:

The implementation of the PEACE IV Action Plan was assisted by the PEACE IV Partnership. The Partnership was a subcommittee of the Louth Local Community Development Committee (LCDC). Their responsibilities included the preparation and implementation of the PEACE IV Action Plan, this included the monitoring & evaluation of activities approved under the plan. They reported to the LCDC.

The formation of the Partnership was required by SEUPB and was formed via nominations from the municiple districts, the Public Participation Network (PPN) and various representative bodies.
