Glas Civil Engineering have been appointed to deliver this contract. Works commenced on site at the start of October, with the initial focus being on installing all new utility infrastructure to underground overhead ESB cables and drainage. Stakeholder engagement is ongoing to ensure any disruption is kept to a minimum. The proposed works are anticipated to be completed in Q2 2024.

The project will regenerate the heart of the village with improvements to the public realm that will build on the huge tourist potential of the village with the Great Eastern Greenway running through its heart. The planned works will enhance the experience of people visiting and living in the village with the increased prioritisation of pedestrians and traffic calming measures, thus creating a far more environmentally sustainable village.

The combination of these improvements and the greenway will create a highly attractive visiting experience for walkers and cyclists alike. This scheme will provide the opportunity for all to really enjoy the natural beauty of the surrounding area, and create opportunities for businesses in the village to cater for the anticipated increased numbers visiting the village to enjoy all that this unique location has to offer.
