This programme began in September 2019. The focus of this programme was on rural engagement of young people in the areas of Dunleer, Ardee, Omeath, Carlingford and Clogherhead. It included 40 young people ranging in age from 16-24, over a two year period.

Following the on-street targeting of youths for the programme, data-gathering took place, highlighted the need for local social spaces, mental health services and youth services in rural areas in Louth. The project offered support, advice and a referral system to young people in the five areas.

Activities included a drop-in pizza night in Dunleer, zorbing, inflatable adventure courses, and zip-wiring, amongst other things.

The programme equipped the participants with the skills to access a wide range of resources and opportunities. Many of the participants went on to undertaken Youth training courses so they can help out with junior summer camps and youth clubs in their areas.

This programme took place during a time affected by Covid 19 restrictions, however the youth workers made sure participants were engaged with via social media or other technology, providing them with quizzes, and mental and physical health tips to see the young people through the days and weeks of lockdown.

The closing event was held in June 2021 via Zoom and included an informative presentation on the programme and it's impact.
