Notice of Intention to Close a section of L-16731-101 Newtownstalaban, Drogheda from 04 Aug-28 Aug 2026

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF ROAD

Section 75 Roads Act, 1993
(Roads Regulations 1994)

Louth County Council hereby gives notice of its intention to close the L-16731-101 Newtownstalaban Drogheda between R-166-32 Newfoundwell Road and L-77023-201 Newtown Link Road to vehicular traffic to facilitate the construction of a new roundabout as part of the Port Access Northern Cross Route Phase 2.

• The extent of the road closure will be from the junction of R-166-32 Newfoundwell Road to the junction with L-77023-201 Newtown Link Road.
• The road closure will be from Tuesday 4th August 2026 to Friday 28th August 2026.
• Local access and emergency access will be maintained.
• Diversions for traffic will be via R-166-32 Newfoundwell Road and L-77023-201 Newtown Link Road and in the opposite direction.

Any person who wishes to object to this closure should lodge an objection in writing (envelope clearly marked “Road Closure Objection”) to the undersigned or via Louth County Council’s Online Consultation Portal using the following link: consult.louthcoco.ie no later than 12 noon on Tuesday 7th July 2026.
