We're Breastfeeding Friendly Louth Campaign Launch

Louth County Council, in collaboration with the HSE, proudly announced the successful launch of the 'We're Breastfeeding Friendly Louth' campaign during National Breastfeeding Week in October 2023. Supported by Healthy Ireland, this initiative aims to enhance the health and wellbeing of breastfeeding mothers, babies, and families across County Louth.

The campaign, which kicked off with a pilot in Dunleer, invites businesses, communities, and voluntary sectors to participate actively in fostering breastfeeding-friendly environments. Premises received informative packs including booklets, window stickers, and posters to display their support.

Cllr Paula Butterly, Cathaoirleach of Louth County Council, expressed her delight in spearheading such a positive initiative. Joan Martin, Chief Executive, highlighted the council's commitment to supporting community health initiatives, echoing the sentiments of Paula Keenan, Healthy Louth Coordinator, and Roisin McMahon, HSE Clinical Nurse Manager.

The 'We're Breastfeeding Friendly Louth' campaign marks a significant step towards creating family-friendly spaces in the county. Through collaborative efforts and support from Healthy Ireland, Louth County Council aims to further enhance the health and wellbeing of all residents and workers in County Louth.
