The Narrow Water Bridge is a landmark cross-border infrastructure project to link the Cooley Peninsula and the Mourne Mountains, providing huge tourism and connectivity boosts for the region and enabling cross-border active travel and recreation.

Construction commenced in May 2024 and is to be finished by the end of 2027.  When complete, the 195-metre, two-span, cable-stayed bridge will span the narrowest point of Carlingford Lough, connecting Cornamucklagh near Omeath, Co Louth, with Narrow Water near Warrenpoint, Co Down.

David Conway, Chief Executive of Louth County Council, said: “The Narrow Water Bridge is one of the most significant cross-border infrastructure projects in recent decades, and we are delighted to launch a dedicated website to keep the public informed. www.narrowwaterbridge.com will serve as a central hub for timely updates, key milestones, and insights into the progress of this transformative initiative. We encourage everyone to visit the site and follow the journey as we work together to deliver lasting economic and social benefits for the region.”
