Over 200 volunteer‑led groups across County Louth have been awarded funding under Louth County Council’s Amenity Grant Scheme. The Council has approved a total of €181,000 in grant support under this year’s scheme. The funding provides vital essential financial assistance to Tidy Towns groups, community groups, residents’ associations, and environmental groups throughout the county.

The grants support a wide range of local enhancement activities, including landscaping, planting, minor maintenance works, biodiversity initiatives, and environmental improvement projects in housing estates and community areas.

Commenting on funding, the Cathaoirleach of Louth County Council, Cllr Seán Kelly said:

“The dedication and hard work of our Tidy Towns groups, Residents’ Associations, and community organisations is truly commendable. These grants recognise that commitment and provide essential support to ensure our shared spaces are well maintained and continue to thrive. The impact of their efforts is visible in every town and village across County Louth.”

Joanna Kelly, Director of Services at Louth County Council added:

“The Amenity Grant Scheme is a key part of Louth County Council’s commitment to empowering communities to lead the enhancement of their local environments. By supporting projects that strengthen sustainability, biodiversity and place-making, we are investing in the long-term resilience and attractiveness of our towns and villages. We commend all participating groups for their leadership and continued partnership in delivering positive outcomes for communities across the county.”
