Louth County Council Stakeholder and Community Consultation
HELP SHAPE THE REGENERATION OF ARDEE
22nd June 2021: Louth County Council is inviting stakeholders and members of the community to take part in an early consultation to explore opportunities for enhancement of key public realm areas in the town of Ardee.
The Council has exciting plans to improve the streetscape and amenity of Ardee with a focus on four key opportunity sites: Main Street; Ash Walk; The Old Railway; and amenity lands to the east of the Town. This ambitious project will result in a holistic design proposal, setting a new benchmark for public realm and town centre infrastructure that will transform 21st century Ardee.
Louth County Council is inviting all stakeholders and interested parties including residents, retailers, elderly representative groups, institutions, and businesses as well as community and sporting groups to take part in this consultation process and express their views and aspirations for the area to help shape and inform proposals. To facilitate this engagement, Louth County Council launced an online survey at www.ardee2040.ie on Monday, 21 June 2021. The survey will close on at 5pm on Monday 5th July 2021.
Launching the early public consultation LCC Chief Executive Joan Martin, said“Louth Council are pleased to be working again with Turley on some exciting proposals for the regeneration of Ardee. Early engagement has shown there is a real appetite in the community to feed into this consultation process and help shape the design proposals. I am looking forward to bring the proposals forward for consideration by the Ardee community in early August. Finally I would encourage as many people as possible to complete the survey to ensure the proposals reflect what the community of Ardee need and want.”
Speaking about the project, Seamus Donohoe, Director, Turley Planning, said; “Turley in association with a multi-disciplinary team are delighted to be working with Louth County Council to prepare regeneration design proposals for key opportunity sites at Ardee, Co. Louth. The project work will result in a holistic design proposal, setting a new benchmark for public realm and town centre infrastructure design with a central focus on socio-economic regeneration, enterprise and sustainable urban living.”
