Publication of Decision to Adopt Traffic Calming Measures

Section 38 of The Road Traffic Act 1994, as amended and Section 95 of the Road Traffic Act 1961

Please be advised that a decision has been made by the Director of Services,  Placemaking and Physical Development, by virtue of the powers conferred on him by the Local Government Act 2001 and having considered the submission made during public consultation,  to order the proposed Section 38 Road Traffic Act measures at the following locations as placed on public display.

 

Safe Routes to School St Patrick’s National School Drogheda – Bothar Brugha Road (L-16651-1)

 

Safe Routes to School Scoil Aonghusa National SchoolDrogheda -Sundays Gate (L1665-87), Magdalene Street (L1666-86), Scarlett Street (L1664-81), King Street (L-16643-75)

 

Safe Routes to School St Louis Secondary School Dundalk – Castletown Road (R934), Mill Road (L-20018-40), Bellews Bridge Road (L-2000-740).

 

Louth County Council, in accordance with Article 6(3) of the EU Habitats Directive (Directive 92/43/EEC) and Regulation 42(1) of the European Communities (Birds and Natural Habitats) Regulations 2011 as amended, has undertaken Appropriate Assessment Screening on the proposed development of Active Travel Proposals on the above aforementioned routes, to assess, in view of best scientific knowledge and the conservation objectives of the site, if the works, individually or in combination with other plans or projects, are likely to have a significant effect on a European Site(s).

 

In accordance with Article 6(3) of the EU Habitats Directive (Directive 92/43/EEC) and Regulation 42(1) of the European Communities (Birds and Natural Habitats) Regulations 2011, as amended, Louth County Council has made a determination that Appropriate Assessment is not required, as it can be concluded that the works, individually or in combination with other plans or projects, are not likely to have a significant effect on any European Sites.
