Public Notice: Serious Risk of Electrocution from Circulating Pumps

Heat-Pumps

The Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (CCPC) has issued an urgent safety alert as 114,000 circulating pumps installed in heating systems in Ireland could present a serious risk of electrocution.

The affected products are Tucson 5m, 6m and 8m pumps manufactured between 2017 and 2024.

Louth County Council is currently identifying council housing with Tucson pumps. It urges all tenants to not touch their circulating pump under any circumstances.

  • Do not inspect, adjust, disconnect, or attempt any maintenance or investigation on the pump.
  • Continue to use your heating system as normal, but do not handle the pump in any way.

Tenants who are concerned are advised to contact the Housing Maintenance section by email at maintenance@louthcoco.ie or phone on 042 93 35457.

A member of the Council’s Social Housing technical team will arrange an inspection. If your pump is affected, it will be replaced.
