Northern Lights return to Dundalk for St Brigid's Day

As St Brigid's Day approaches on the 1st of February, the birthplace of Ireland’s beloved matron saint invites visitors to celebrate this special occasion and immerse themselves in the rich heritage, vibrant culture, and stunning landscapes that make Louth a must-visit destination.

One of the various events planned across Louth to honour St Brigid’s enduring legacy is the Northern Lights multisensory light show, which will illuminate Dundalk’s Market Square.

Prepare to be enchanted and amazed at this spectacular audio-visual celebration of St Brigid with three extraordinary audio-visual shows which will take place between 6pm and 7pm on Saturday 1st and Sunday 2nd of February.

This breathtaking display, choreographed to music, intertwines historical, cultural, and spiritual elements with cutting-edge technology.

The eight majestic golden arches feature up to 200,000 individual points of light, and decorative symbols inspired by the iconic Brigid of Faughart mural by Irish artist Friz.

The installation, which is free for all to attend, will also be illuminated daily (without audio) from 11am to midnight throughout the month of February.

The Northern Lights are proudly brought to you by Louth County Council, Visit Louth & Dundalk Town.
