Draft Strategic Policy Committee Scheme 2024 - 2029

Under the provisions of Section 48 of the Local Government Act, 2001 and Guidelines made thereof, Louth County Council has prepared a Draft Strategic Policy Committee Scheme.

Strategic Policy Committees advise and assist the Council in it's work and are tasked with the formulation and development of policy for approval by Council.  Membership is drawn from Sectoral Interests and the Public Participation Network as well as the Elected Members.  This draft scheme both lists the Policy areas and the suggested membership representation.

A copy of the scheme is now available in all the County Council public offices and libraries.  Members of the public and interested parties are invited to make submissions regarding the scheme to Joe McGuinness, Director of Organisational Development, Louth County Council or by email to: SPCscheme@louthcoco.ie no later than 5.00pm on Friday 6th September 2024.
