PUBLIC NOTICE

County of Louth (Segregation, Storage and Presentation of Household and Commercial Waste) Bye-laws, 2018.

Pursuant to Section 35(1) of the Waste Management Act 1996 as amended and Section 199(1) of the Local Government Act 2001 as amended and in accordance with Part 19 of the Local Government Act 2001 as amended; notice is hereby given that Louth County Council proposes to make new Bye-Laws to regulate and control the Segregation, Storage and Presentation of Household and Commercial Waste within its functional area.  It is proposed to make provision in the Bye-Laws for the imposition of a fixed payment of €75 in respect of a contravention of a Bye-Law as an alternative to a prosecution, as provided for in Section 206 of the Local Government Act 2001.

 

The Draft Bye-Laws are available for public inspection during normal office hours, from the 1st of October until the 9th of November 2018, between 9:00am and 5:00pm Monday to Friday at:

  • The offices of the Louth County Council, Fair Street, Drogheda ,
  • The offices of Louth County Council, County Hall, Millennium Centre,  St. Alphonsus Road, Dundalk,
  • Ardee Civic Offices, Fair Green, Ardee,

A copy of the Draft Bye-Laws may be purchased on payment of the prescribed fee of €7.00.

They are also available for inspection at Louth Co. Councils Public Libraries (during normal opening hours) or may be viewed online at www.louthcoco.ie

Louth County Council will consider any submissions made in relation to the Draft Bye-Laws.  Such submissions can be made in writing before 5:00pm on 19th of November 2018 to the undersigned or by e-mail to environmentalcompliance@louthcoco.ie. All submissions must include the name and address of the person/organisation making the submission.
