Active Louth
Louth County Council launched its Play Policy 2026–2031. The new policy sets out a five-year framework to support accessible, inclusive and high-quality play opportunities for people of all ages across the county. The policy adopts a lifelong approach to play, recognising its importance for children, young people, adults and older people in supporting physical health, mental wellbeing, social connection and community development. Its vision is that:
"By 2031, Louth will be a county where everyone can play everywhere."
Developed through extensive consultation with children, young people, families, communities and stakeholders, the policy identifies a strong demand for more inclusive, accessible and intergenerational play opportunities throughout County Louth.
