Discover Local Groups and Get Involved at Louth Community Expo
Louth County Council is inviting members of the public to attend a free Community Expo, taking place from 10.30am-2pm on Wednesday, 30 September, at Lann Léire, Pavilions, Dunleer.
Organised by Age Friendly Louth and Louth Public Participation Network (PPN), the event will bring together community, voluntary, social inclusion and environmental organisations from across County Louth.
It will give people an opportunity to learn more about local groups, services and supports, find out how they can get involved in their communities and celebrate the valuable contribution made by volunteers throughout the county.
The Community Expo will feature a range of activities, including exhibitor stalls from community groups, charities and social enterprises, interactive workshops and demonstrations, and participation in a consultation on Community Wellbeing. Attendees can also hear presentations from the Road Safety Authority, physiotherapist Ann Orr, network, and enjoy the free refreshments provided.
Encouraging people to attend, Cllr Dolores Minogue, Cathaoirleach of Louth County Council, said: "The strength of County Louth lies in its communities and in the people who give their time, energy and expertise to support others. This Expo is a wonderful opportunity to showcase the wide range of organisations and initiatives that are enhancing community wellbeing across the county, while inspiring even more people to become involved in community life.
"Whether you are new to the area, recently retired, looking for volunteering opportunities, hoping to make new social connections, or simply interested in learning more about the services and supports available in your community, I would encourage you to come along. It's a chance to meet local groups, discover new opportunities and see first-hand how people across County Louth are working together to build stronger, more connected and inclusive communities."
Louth PPN, a countywide network representing more than 670 organisations, is co-hosting the event with Age Friendly Louth as part of their shared commitment to supporting active, connected and inclusive communities.
Anna Ryan, Louth PPN Resource Worker, Louth County Council, said: "This Expo is about shining a light on the incredible work happening every day in towns and villages across County Louth. It’s a chance to celebrate, connect, and inspire future action."
