Notice of Intention to Close Road L-7120 from 24 August 2026 to 23 April 2027

Louth County Council hereby gives notice of its intention to close:
The L-7120 from its junction with the N53 Dundalk to Castleblayney Road at Annaghvacky to the junction of the L-7121 Road to vehicular and pedestrian traffic to facilitate the construction of the N53 Hackballscross to Rassan road re-alignment Scheme. The road closure is required to facilitate major road works including the construction of the new T junction road re-alignment and tying the L-7120 into the new realigned N53.
The road closure will be from Monday 24th August 2026 to Friday 23rd April 2027 inclusive. Local access and emergency access will be maintained.
Diversions for traffic will be via the N53 to Hackballscross, the L-3125 , L-3122, L-8650, L-4630 to the L-7120 and in the opposite direction.
Any person who wishes to object to this closure should lodge an objection in writing (envelope clearly marked “Road Closure Objection”) to the undersigned or via Louth County Council’s Online Consultation Portal using the following link https://consult.louthcoco.ie/en/consultation/temporary-road-closure-l-7120-its-junction-n53-dundalk-castleblayney-road-annaghvacky-junction-l no later than 12 noon on Friday 31st July 2026.
