Opening Arrangements

Louth Library Service is now open in Dundalk, Drogheda & Ardee Libraries. Regular opening hours apply in both Dundalk & Drogheda. Evening opening & My Open Library services are not available in Ardee at this time. We would like to thank all of our members for being patient with us during this period as we gradually re-introduce our services.

Services Available in Dundalk, Drogheda & Ardee Libraries

  • Browse, borrow & return library items
  • Collect holds
  • Limited public internet use (booking only)
  • Photocopying & Printing
  • Local history, genealogy & microfilm (booking only)
  • Wi-Fi
  • Online Services i.e. eBooks, eAudiobooks, digital magazines & newspapers

We do not at this time have study spaces or seating areas.

Louth Library Service began reopening with a “Contact and Collect” lending Service on June 8th as per Phase 2 of the Government roadmap for easing restrictions. Contact and Collect will continue in Dunleer and Carlingford Libraries until further notice. 

This is an appointment only system where you can contact Dunleer or Carlingford Library by phone or email and arrange to collect lending material from the library at a pre-specified time. For more details on our branches click

Our first priority is for a safe lending service and due to social distancing measures we ask that you work with us until we can offer a fuller service in the near future as the national restrictions are lifted. Please contact us for general requests at
