Louth in Bloom 2020

Every year Louth County Council hold a Drogheda Looking Good and Dundalk Looking Good Competiton Awards.
The Governments National Framework on Living with Covid 19 and subsequent restrictions and regulations meant that the format for these competitions had to change in 2020.
Louth County Council introduced a new county-wide initiative, with a revised format for 2020 - "Louth in Bloom" to bring together the three competitions for 2020.
The aim of the competition was to acknowledge, recognise and reward the work being carried out during the difficult times of the Covid 19 pandemic by the community/business sectors and the volunteers.

Competition entrants were invited to submit images of the great work that they have undertaken in their community, and following an adjudication process a series of prize winners were selected from all the entries

The categories in this competition included: Best gardens, best housing estates, best biodiversity project and best hospitality and business premises.

Prizes were awarded for each of the three District areas of Ardee, Drogheda & Dundalk, with overall County winners and one "Special Lifetime Contribution Award".

Councillor Dolores Minogue, Cathaoirleach of Louth County Council launched the Louth in Bloom Competition on 1st July 2020. (Councillor Minogue shown in photo below with two senior officials from  Louth County Council at Louth in Bloom 2020 Launch Event)
