Notice of Adoption of Variation (No. 2) of the LCDP 2015-2021

Notice is hereby given pursuant to Section 13 of the Planning and Development Act 2000 (as amended) that Louth County Council, being the Planning Authority for County Louth, at their meeting on Monday, 20th July, 2020 made a Variation (Variation No. 2) to the Louth County Development Plan 2015-2021. 

 Variation (No. 2) provides for the inclusion within the Louth County Development Plan 2015-2021 of Policy TC20A which states: “To protect the selected route of the N2 upgrade road scheme between Ardee and Castleblaney and to prohibit development that could prejudice its future delivery”,

and the insertion of new text (N2: Ardee-Castleblaney Road Upgrade) in Table 7.7

The purpose of Variation (No. 2) is to facilitate the upgrade of the N2 single carriageway National Primary Road from north of Ardee (County Louth) to the roundabout at Tullyvin south of Castleblaney (County Monaghan). The current Road Improvement Programme 2015-2021 of the Plan makes no provision for the upgrade of the N2, north of Ardee.

 The adopted Variation (No. 2) of the Louth County Development Plan 2015-2021 is available for inspection at all Louth County Council Customer Service Desks at the following locations from Tuesday 28th July, 2020:

  • Civic Offices, Fair Street, Drogheda, Co. Louth A92 P440
