Irish Language Scheme

Preparation of Second Irish Language Scheme as required under Section 13 of the Official Language Act, 2003

Louth County Council adopted its fist Irish Language Scheme in November 2007.

 The Council now propose to develop a second scheme for the period 2020-2023.

The primary objective of the Act is to ensure better availability and a higher standard of public services through the medium of Irish.

Louth County Council now wishes to invite representations in relation to the preparations of the draft scheme from any interested parties. Submissions should ideally not exceed 4,000 words.

 The latest date for receipt of submissions is 5:00pm on 20th December 2019.

 Ghlac Comhairle contae Lú a céad Scéim Teanga i mí na samhna 2007. Tá sé beartaithe ag an gcomhairle anois an dara scéim a fhorbairt don tréimshe 2020-2023. Is í príomhchuspóir an Achta na infhaighteacht níos fear agus staidreamh níos aired de sheirbhísí poiblí trí mheán na Gaeilge a chinntiú.

Is mian le Comhairle Contae Lú (CCL) uiríll a lorg anois maidir le hullmhú na dréacht-scéime ó aon pháirtithe leasmhara. Ba chóir nach rachaidh na haigneachtaí thar 4,000 focal.
