Graffiti Removal

Louth County Council will, in normal circumstances, use its powers under S20 (1) and (5) of the Litter Pollution Act in relation to Graffiti to:

  • require property owners to remove graffiti from their property where it arises, or
  • to remove the offending graffiti and charge the property owner the costs thereby incurred.

The Council will, however, in consultation with other state agencies including an Garda Siochana where appropriate, use its powers under S20 (6) of the Litter Pollution Act, to remove such graffiti on behalf of the property owner in cases where circumstances are deemed necessary.
