Designated Urban Centre Grants Scheme, under the Border, Midland and Western Regional Operational Programme 2014 – 2020

Louth County Council has been approved grant aid of 50% of eligible public costs up to a limit of €2,000,000 in grant aid for the completion of the: Clanbrassil Street & St. Nicholas’ Quarter Rejuvenation Scheme.

The overall aim of this rejuvenation scheme is to reinvigorate Clanbrassil Street and St Nicholas’ Quarter and:

  • establish a new identity for this key gateway into Dundalk town centre
  • assist in rebalancing the centre of gravity of the town
  • redefine public space and improve public realm
  • build upon the benefits reaped by the successful Market Square project
  • build upon the rich built heritage
  • recognise Dundalk’s importance as a regional centre for retail and commerce.
