Energy Efficiency Targets and Performance

The Government has set a target of 33% energy efficiency improvement to be achieved by all public bodies by 2020. Louth County Council, along with all public bodies, must report their energy usage on an annual basis. To date, public bodies have achieved savings of 21%. This equates to energy savings of over €154 million, and is the equivalent to 548,000 tonnes of avoided CO2 emissions.

To the end of 2015 Louth County Council has shown an improvement of 33.8% in energy efficiency since the base period. 2015 figures show a 7.6% improvement on 2014.

Monitoring of LCC's energy consumption and opportunities to further improve energy efficiency are ongoing.
