Natural Heritage

With only a single, high, upland area and few bogs, it is unsurprising that Louth has the lowest percentage of tree cover of any county in the State. However, Louth's long and low-lying coast is of great importance for wildlife. Dundalk is exceptionally lucky in having such a rich wildlife resource on its doorstep and it is to be hoped that the town can benefit from this fortunate location.
