How do I check if I am registered to vote?
This Register is available in all Louth County Council offices, Dundalk, Drogheda, Ardee, in post offices, Garda stations and public libraries. You can also check if you are registered online at www.checktheregister.ie.
If you are already registered to vote and want to update your details you must print and complete an RFA3 form and return it to us at the address below.

Then register for inclusion in the Draft Register of Electors published on the 1st November each year. Any individual entered in the Draft Register will automatically be entered in the Register of Electors published the following February.
- Be at least 18 years of age on the day the Register comes into force
- You must be ordinarily resident in the State since the 1st September in the year preceding the coming force of the Register

Voting and Elections
- Irish citizens can vote in every election and referendum.
- British citizens may vote at Dáil, European and local elections.
- Other EU citizens may vote at European and local elections.
- Non-EU citizens can vote at local elections only.
