Louth take four LAMA Awards at the LAMA Community and Council Awards

The Cathaoirleach Cllr. Declan Breathnach, and The County Manager Ms. Philomena Poole have welcomed the news that County Louth are the recipient of four of the Local Authority Members Association (LAMA) Awards including The Council of the Year which was awarded to Louth County Council and accepted by the Leas Cathaoirleach Cllr. Liam Reilly at an awards ceremony on Saturday 25th January. The County Manager commenting on the awards has acknowledged the key role played by staff from a number of Departments in achieving such high accolades. The role of Community advocates was also a key factor in the counties success which is evident from the fact that Blackrock Public Park having been nominated by Blackrock Tidy Towns Group was awarded the Best Public Park.

Partnership of a wider dimension was also recognised with the Louth Economic Forum taken the honours in the Best Economic Partnership/Unit category. The Best Energy Smart initiative by a local authority was awarded to Dundalk Town Council for the work as part of the Coxes Demense regeneration project. Cathaoirleach Eamon O’Boyle in welcoming the award congratulated all involved in the project including the residents who have worked hand in hand with the staff in delivering this very important project.
