Louth County Council is pleased to announce the roll out of its Community Smoke Alarm Scheme for 2014

Louth County Council is pleased to announce the roll out of its Community Smoke Alarm Scheme for 2014, which funds the installation of smoke alarms in vulnerable households in County Louth (excluding local authority housing). The cost of purchasing the smoke alarm is funded by the Department of Environment, Community and Local Government with other costs funded locally.

Under the Scheme, Louth County Council, Social Inclusion Unit with the assistance of the Louth Community and Voluntary Forum network and the Fire Service, will identify vulnerable households, including the elderly and people with disabilities, where no alarms are fitted. They will arrange for the supply and where necessary the installation of the self-contained smoke alarms.
