Louth Local Authorities receives in excess of one thousand Planning Applications each year. In a great number of cases unnecessary delays occur as a result of the application being invalid or failure to include sufficient information to allow the planning authority consider the application comprehensively.
The Planning and Development Acts, 2000 to 2010 resulted in a number of changes to the planning code. The Planning and Development Regulations, 2001 to 2011, consolidated the Planning Regulations and brought them into line with the new provisions of the Acts. Changes were made to procedures for processing planning applications to ensure that applications are processed as efficiently as possible.
