E-audiobooks for free - OneClickdigital
Audiobooks are a great way to enjoy a book and can be used where it would be impossible to read. Listening to a professional reader can really bring a book alive.
Louth Library is offering a fantastic new service called OneClickdigital, where anyone with a Louth County Library Card can download and listen to E-audiobooks for free. You can choose from a great selection of titles, then download the audio book to either your PC or Mac. You can listen to the audio book straight away from your PC or Mac, or you can transfer it to an iPod or MP3 player. You can download the audio book from home or anywhere you have a computer and an internet connection. There are hundreds of books to choose from, all of them complete and unabridged and more titles are being added monthly.
How to get started
Go to the OneClickDigital website. New users will need to create an account. Enter your Louth library card number and fill in all the required fields (you will only have to do this once when you join). Remember the user name and password that you choose as you will need them when you login in the future.
Once you have created your account you can download up to 10 E-audiobooks at a time (this is in addition to any items you have borrowed on you library card from the library branch). Each audio book will be on loan to you for up to three weeks. At the end of the loan period you can extend the loan period or it will automatically deactivate. There will never be over due charges! If you have finished with a book before the end of the three week loan period you can return it early.
For easy downloads it is best to install OneClickdigital Media Manager which is available on the website for free.
For more information, see OneClickdigital’s FAQs. It lists software requirements, and which portable devices you can use. There is also a selection of tutorial videos explaining how to get started. OneClickdigital is provided by W.F.Howes.
