Summer Stars Medals & Certificates Presentation: Saturday Oct. 1st @ 11.30am. All children who took part in this year’s summer stars reading programme are invited along to collect their certificate and medal at Drogheda Library.
Europe Direct Soapbox Competition; "The EU: United in Diversity" chaired by MEP Mairead McGuinness on Thursday Oct. 13th @ 6.30pm. Application forms can be collected from Drogheda Library. Entry is open to all and contestants can compete in one of two categories; 1) 18 & Under or 2) 19 & Over. Each contestant must present a three-minute speech for or against the topic "The EU: United in Diversity" before a public audience and a panel of judges with a winner being selected from each category on the day. Both winners will qualify for the grand final in The National Concert Hall, Dublin on the 8th of November.
