Education Bursary for Study at Third Level commencing 2012/2013
Louth Local Authorities have launched their Education Bursary scheme for students commencing third level study in 2012. Established in 2003, to build on their role in promoting social inclusion, the educational bursary is available for undergraduate honours degree level courses in throughout the island of Ireland (Level 8) and level 7/8 courses in Dundalk I.T.
A fund of in excess of €15,000 per annum has been made available to be shared among the successful applicants. Since its establishment, 36 students have availed of the scheme, providing them with an opportunity to study a course at third level that they may not have been in a position to do so because of serious economic, social or other disadvantage including disability.
Interested candidates should:
- Display the motivation, commitment and ability to study the chosen course.
- Show that a severe disadvantage exists, which may prevent the applicant from the study of a particular course.
