Schools Campaigns

We organise a very successful Post Primary and Primary School Environment Competitions annually. We also carry out school visits to speak to the children about the environment generally and to heighten their awareness of the litter problem. This year we introduced an anti-litter mascot to our campaign called "Auntie Litter Bug" and this has proved a very successful means of getting the message across to the children.

The Junior Environmentalist of the Year Award was designed to give public recognition to a young person who has shown remarkable commitment and enthusiasm for environmental matters in their school and environs. Each school is asked to nominate a pupil for the award and the winner is announced at the School's Presentation Ceremony.
