Peace III Strategy and Plan 2008-2010

The Co Louth Peace and Reconciliation Strategy and Plan has been developed within the context of 13 years of peace building work in Co Louth and on a cross border basis with neighbouring counties in the North of Ireland/Northern Ireland. It recognises and values the contribution of community-led organisations in the county in their responses and approaches to Peace Building and Reconciliation. In moving forward, it seeks to consolidate and build on these innovative approaches so as to ensure an enduring legacy of the peace building work in Ireland becomes rooted centrally within local development structures that can influence policy for the future. In addition this recognition and centralisation of the peace and reconciliation process can strengthen the contribution Ireland can make to other international areas experiencing conflict.
