Late payments will now incur penalty and interest charges
Unpaid charges can still be paid on line at www.householdcharge.ie, by post to PO Box 12168, Dublin 1 or by cash at your nearest Council Office.
You can pay the charge online by credit/debit card or by cheque/Postal Order/Bank Drafts by posting your form and payment to Household Charge, PO Box 12168, Dublin 1 or by cash at your local authority office.
Louth Council is accepting payment at the following Council Offices:
- Louth County Council, County Hall, Dundalk
- Dundalk Town Council, Town Hall, Dundalk
- Drogheda Borough Council, Fair street, Drogheda
- Ardee Town Council,Civic Services Centre, Ardee
All owners of residential property in Ireland are liable for the household charge on each residential property they own, as at 1st January 2012. Invoices will not be issued and payments made after 31st March will incur penalties and late payment fees. It is against the law not to pay this charge.
This money is critical to fund essential local services like public parks; libraries; open spaces and leisure amenities; planning and development; fire and emergency services; maintenance and cleaning of streets and street lighting – all facilities that benefit everyone in the community.
