Notice of Intention to temporarily close Market Square & Clanbrassil Street
Please note that, under Section 75 of the Roads Act 1993 and Part 8 of the Roads Regulations 1994, Dundalk Town Council propose to close sections of the above roads, to facilitate final surfacing along Market Square and Clanbrassil Street/Market Square Junction.
The works required at Market Square and Clanbrassil Street are proposed to be undertaken over a three day period between 6th August & 26th August 2012, as weather permits.
The following road closures may be in force at any time during this period:
The closures will occur as follows:
1. Phase 1,
Crowe Street - bound lane of Market Square closed from junction with Long Walk. Alternative route for traffic wishing to access Crowe Street from Market Square will be via Long Walk - The Laurels (Griffith Place) - Church Street - Clanbrassil Street - Crowe Street (see attached drawing detailing diversion route)
2. Phase 2,
Market Square-bound lane of Long Walk closed near its junction with Market Square. No through road to Market Square from Long Walk junction at Carroll Village. Local access only will be accommodated. Alternative route for traffic wishing to access Clanbrassil Street from Long Walk/Carroll Village will be via Demesne Road - Park Drive - Park Villas - The Demesne-Market Square - Clanbrassil Street (see attached drawing detailing diversion route)
3. Phase 3,
Clanbrassil Street closed from junction with Eimear Court to junction with Market Square/Crowe Street. Alternative route for traffic wishing to access Crowe Street or Roden Place from Clanbrassil Street will be via Bachelor’s Walk - Chapel Street - Market Street - Defender’s Row. Alternative route for traffic wishing to access Clanbrassil Street from Market Square will be via Long Walk - Laurels Road (Griffith Place) - Church Street -Clanbrassil Street.
Submissions regarding the proposed temporary closure may be made in writing to Dundalk Town Council not later than 4.00p.m. on Friday 13th July, 2012.
