Louth County Council hereby gives notice that the under mentioned road will be closed to public traffic from Monday 27th February 2012 for a duration of three weeks to facilitate road works.        Short stretch of LS 7128 road at junction of Court road and N53 Diversion Route: For traffic wishing to access the Court road  we would propose a diversion route as follows :

€1,200 fine and costs for waste conviction in Drogheda

Louth County Council has successfully prosecuted a further offender under environmental protection legislation. At Drogheda District Court on January 12, Mr Martin Joyce, Primatestown, Ashbourne, Co Meath pleaded guilty to two charges under the Waste Management Acts 1996, relating to offences in May 2011. On two separate occasions, Mr Joyce was stopped by members of An Garda Síochána and found with end-of-life (“scrapped”) vehicles on board a vehicle transporter.

Community Smoke & Carbon Monoxide Alarm Scheme 2012

Louth County Council is pleased to announce the roll out of its Community Smoke Alarm Scheme for 2012.  The scheme funds the installation of smoke alarms in vulnerable households nationwide (excluding local authority housing). This year funding has been secured by the Social Inclusion Unit of Louth County Council to purchase a limited number of Carbon Monoxide Alarms.  In addition the Fire Departments of Louth Local Authorities have kindly provided a limited number of smoke alarms designed specifically for the deaf and hard of hearing.
