Louth County Council has successfully prosecuted a further offender under environmental protection legislation.
At Drogheda District Court on January 12, Mr Martin Joyce, Primatestown, Ashbourne, Co Meath pleaded guilty to two charges under the Waste Management Acts 1996, relating to offences in May 2011. On two separate occasions, Mr Joyce was stopped by members of An Garda Síochána and found with end-of-life (“scrapped”) vehicles on board a vehicle transporter.
Cllr Kevin Callan, Mayor of Drogheda, has welcomed the announcement by Coca-Cola that they are creating an additional 100 jobs at their operation in the town.
The jobs boost comes at the company's Global Business Shared Services unit.
