Ardee Town Council

Ardee TC Logo

The Arms of Ardee, as granted by the Chief Herald of Ireland in 1980, are derived as follows:-

“Per fess or and azure a fess barry wavy of four azure and argent”

This describes the middle section of the crest which is four azure and argent waves representing the river Dee.

The top section of the crest depicts the friendship between Cuchulainn and Ferdia with the interlaced olive wreath representing peace between North & South of Ireland.

“Two swords points upwards in saltire interlaced with an olive wreath”

“and in the base a representation of the Castle of Ardee”

The motto “na bris sith na bris cairdis” translates as don’t break peace don’t break friendship.
